No surgery, No Downtime with Minimal Discomfort
Lipodissolve is a safe, non-invasive form of treatment for cellulite and fat cells. Lipodissolve is considered the “home run” of the cosmetic world rivaling what liposuction does for plastic surgery. Lipodissolve is a safe and effective alternative to liposuction as it delivers healing or corrective treatment to specific, targeted areas. With Lipodissolve, we can treat fat under the chin, in the abdomen, upper arms, knees, bra fat, and love handles. It is becoming more widely used for cellulite reduction, body-sculpting, and even skin rejuvenation.
What areas can be treated?
Lipodissolve may be an ideal treatment for small areas of concern, like a double chin. Additional areas that may respond to mesotherapy include the abdomen, inner or outer thighs, love handles, buttocks, back, bra bulge, neck, and face.
How Is The Procedure Performed?
The Lipodissolve procedure is performed during a short office visit. There is no need for anesthesia, not even a local anesthetic to numb the skin. Injections into areas of fat are relatively painless. However, ice may be applied to the area for a few minutes to reduce sensations in the skin. The provider then uses a small needle to make several injections across the treatment area. Each may feel like a tiny pinch if anything at all. There is no downtime needed after this injectable treatment.
How Long Until I See Lipodissolve Results?
Like other nonsurgical methods of fat-reduction, Lipodissolve takes time to work. This is because the series of treatments stimulates a natural response in which the body eliminates unwanted fat, similar to diet and exercise. Although it is possible to see results after one or two treatments, this is very rare. People interested in Lipodissolve should be prepared to wait for the optimal outcome they desire.
In one study by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, 7 participants received 4 Lipodissolve sessions scheduled 8 weeks apart. Six of the participants reported seeing a notable difference on the side of the body that was treated and subsequently opted to have the other side of their body treated. In MRI images, study participants were found to have a 1 cm reduction in fat thickness. +
To maintain the results achieved with Lipodissolve, it is necessary to maintain a healthy diet and active lifestyle. Periodic touch-ups may be necessary to address small pockets of residual fat.
Are There Any Side Effects?
No downtime is needed to recover from Lipodissolve. However, patients may notice mild side effects like swelling, redness, and bruising in the treatment area. These may last up to 10 days. They rarely interfere with normal activities.
Is Lipodissolve Safe?
Lipodissolve injections are a type of injection therapy that is not much different than Kybella. The latter, approved by the FDA a few years ago, introduces a chemical (deoxycholic acid) that breaks down fat cells in a targeted area. Lipodissolve does the same. A form of aesthetic mesotherapy, Lipodissolve introduces a proprietary blend of medications, vitamins, and plant extracts into the layer of subcutaneous fat that is often problematic.
The most common medications included in Lipodissolve include Phosphatidylcholine (PC) and Sodium Deoxycholate (DC). Phosphatidylcholine is an FDA-approved chemical that breaks down blood fats that may increase the risk of heart disease. It is a soybean extract, and deoxycholate is a bile derivative that is naturally made in the human liver. In combination, these two chemicals break up fat within targeted cells, allowing it to be excreted easily through the lymphatic system.
Though this treatment seems safe for most people, one study suggests that Lipodissolve should not be performed if:
- You are on aspirin therapy.
- You are pregnant or nursing.
- You have a chronic health condition such as diabetes, thyroid disorder, kidney disease, or heart disease.
- You are allergic to soy.
How Much Does Lipodissolve Cost?
The cost of Lipodissolve may vary from one person to another. Like many injectables, mesotherapy may be calculated per unit. Additionally, the cost may be influenced by the number of treatment sessions a person needs to achieve their desired outcome and by the number of areas treated. We perform a thorough consultation in which we discuss all of the aspects of Lipodissolve treatment with you. After our discussion and evaluation of the area or areas you would like treated, we can estimate the number of sessions you may need and how much of the Lipodissolve solution it may take to achieve your goals.
