What is laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal is a cosmetic procedure that removes unwanted hair on the face, legs, bikini area, arms, underarms, abdomen and back. An intense beam of light penetrates the skin and converts to heat that is absorbed by the targeted hair follicle. This causes damage to the specific hair but not surrounding skin.
How many treatments will I need?
A successful treatment plan consists of an average of 6-8 sessions over several months. Your hair grows in three stages, and the laser is only effective on follicles in the full-growth stage. The number of treatments needed varies by each person, and treatments are usually spaced at least a month apart.
Does it hurt?
Our GentleMax cooling system makes the treatment less painful and more comfortable for better results. You may experience some slight redness and swelling after treatment. Rarely, patients may experience small red bumps for a couple days.
Are the results permanent?
While each patient responds differently, clinical studies show up to a 90 percent hair reduction with our technology. You will likely need to do occasional touch-up or maintenance treatments.
Why do I have to stay out of the sun?
For four weeks before treatment and two weeks after, you will need to avoid sun exposure, tanning beds and tanning lotions or sprays. Even a slight tan will make it more difficult for the laser light to pass through your skin to heat the follicle. Wear a sunblock with an SPF of at least 30 for two weeks after treatment.
